Body Painting Bash

During the week of Cambry's birthday, 2009, we had our play group over for some artful fun. Bare torsos, plenty of non-toxic ultra washable paint, and we were set for a super sensory experience.

This last picture is of an unexpected piece of art that form on the table in which the paint was set out.

Bring the Rain

It has just been one of those days. And really, after coming off of yesterday's high, of course today would be Meh. I have had this Bubble Blast Playdate all planned out for the longest time. Today was our third attempt at it; past attempts were called on account of rain. Today, imagine that, looks like rain again. Most Mommies here stay in if it rains or even looks like rain - understandable. I, on the other hand, take the kids out almost daily regardless of weather for my sanity - well theirs too. So rather than be all disappointed about Mother Nature raining on our parade, I decided to invite people over to play inside. Thankfully, two of my favorite Mamas and their kids came. We were also joined by a new Mom - super nice lady - who I hope to get to know better. We all had a great time!

In other news, I have changed the settings on the blog to allow anyone (yes, you my family) to comment here. I am not sure what that means for security, but we will try it for a bit. Go ahead, share your thoughts; I'd love to hear from you.

Hippity Hoppity Hunting

(An appropriate face for the occasion :P) We went to our friend's house today for an Easter Egg Hunt. What a blast! 15 moms and twice that many kids running loose in search of treat filled eggs. The trill was enough to make me think we should have such a hunt many times a year. I have something fun up my sleeve for our own hunt at home on Easter Sunday. (more later on that)

Duck Diner

After three attempts, during three separate weeks, we finally hosted our first Mom's Group Meetup. Yeah! We went to MJP park, another of our favs, to feed the ducks. Duck Diner it was called. Rather than post more of the same pictures (kiddos looking cute while 60 enormous ducks engorge loaf after loaf of bread), I have added a couple of cute shots from the playground later that morning. Later in April will be our second attempt at Bubble Blast, our Mom's Group Bubble Party. Let's hope the weather holds out this time.

Playdate in the Park

We are having such a great time with our new Mom's Group!! The keep the calendar full and offer things for the kids to do several times a week. Today we went for a St. Patty's Day Shamrock hunt and picnic lunch at a private little park in Cinco Ranch. The weather was beautiful (read HOT). The kids had a great time, and I always enjoy chatting with the other mothers. Remind me why I used to work. :) Yes, the kids are work, but we are always out having fun.

Too much to ask for all three of us to look at the camera. I am over asking for smiles, just look, please. This was another self timer shot.
What a stud!

My busy boy...I swear he will learn to sit up after he is crawling and walking. He either wants you to stand up him (this is how we spend most of the day) or he is on his belly trying to get his arms and legs underneath himself. And forget lying still, he has mastered the repeated roll. Cambry will be sitting over with her toys, and he will roll on over to be by her. Too cute. Oh, and he is on cereal now - thank goodness. He eats as though he had be fed solids all along, no learning curve here.

Cambry rode a scooter for the first time today at the park, again, no learning curve. She watched her new friend for a minute, asked for a turn, and scooted down the path with ease. Note to the Easter Bunny - Cambry wants a scooter. She has this awesome, really awesome trike that she rides. Kettler Kettrike Diva (only pink and purple) I still push her with the handle though, she can't quite get the peddles figured out. Maybe by three years old? Anyways, we have a great playdate planned at our house next week - A Bubble Blast, that she is looking forward too. Yesterday I walked by her talking to herself (really she was talking to her 'friends'). I asked her what she was talking about. "I was just talking to my friends about which party hat to wear at my bubble party." lol. She is the light in my life. :)
